ASTM International Committee on Electrical Protective Equipment for Workers Names Ernest J. Pauliny Jr. as Chairman
Engineer Ernest J. Pauliny Jr. of Toms River, N.J., has been named chairman of ASTM International Committee F18on Electrical Protective Equipment for Workers. The committee includes more than 250 members who oversee 42 standards related to tools, materials and equipment used by workers for protection from electrical hazard.
Pauliny, who joined ASTM International in 1994, works on several F18 subcommittees and is chair of F18.94 on Long Range Planning and vice chair of F18.95 on Awards. In addition to his work on F18, he is currently serving a three-year term on the ASTM Committee on Technical Committee Operations, where he chairs the subcommittee on Regulations.
A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, N.J., where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering, Pauliny’s career has focused on the analysis and development of electric distribution standards for job safety and hazard analysis, and he has worked on electric systems operations; electric facilities relocations; the planning, design and layout of electric facilities; and maintenance and reliability programs for electric facilities.
